ESR Process (PATENTED)

Regulations

The Eco Solids Recycle Process has been designed to meet internationally accepted standards for the treatment of sewage sludge.

Regulations (United States)
  • EPA, 40 CFR part 503
  • DOT, 49 CFR 173.134
  • Public Health, 42 CFR 72.3

Regulations (European)
  • UK , DoE, 1989
  • UK , Code of Practice, 1996
  • EU, 86/278 (EEC)

The Eco-Solid Recycle Process is able to ensure production of compliant biosolids by maintaining the reactor retention time and temperature within specified ranges. The retention time is estimated from the feed flow rate and the volume of the reactor, and the temperature is monitored at appropriate points within the reactor.

For example in the UK, biosolid treatment standards are measured on the basis of the Hazard Assessment and Critical Control Point (HACCP) method. The biosolid is deemed compliant provided that the process is operated within a set of defined Critical Control Points (CCP). These CCPs would be recorded on the SCADA for compliance monitoring purposes.
